The high-octane rock fusion group makes a brash and aggressive brand of music while distinguishing themselves with attitude-infused vocals.
Overall, Never in Agreement is one of the best albums I’ve heard so far this year. Attik Door have a unique sound and everyone in the band is clearly talented.
Rock'n’ roll is best when combining genuine angst with great riffs that make you want to pump your fist, sing along and just have a good time. Never In Agreement by Attik Door accomplishes all three.
Though there is a Faith No More-like weak rap to the verses, the choruses here rock in full commercial heavy territory showing off Liana Toymasyan’s growl.
The band doesn’t submerge themselves into one specific genre as there are hints of metal, pop and punk hidden in the tracks as well. Never In Agreement clocks in at just over thirty-seven minutes and it should translate very well into a live setting. The band sounds hungry and their songs do not shy away from letting the world know that they are ready to be heard.
Crack open this Attik Door to explore roaring alt-rock/hard rock tunes fronted by a female singer with attitude to spare. The San Francisco- (by way of the former USSR) based quintet deliver gritty rock songs that stylistically span the 70s and the 90s to present day.
This band is strong and so versatile, the members of Attik Doors are truly talented, I would love to know what’s next for them like right now! I can’t wait to hear another album similar to this style of song writing and instrumental genius.
Never In Agreement is ten impressive forays into alternative hard rock, with strong female lead vocals that combine to remind of Flyleaf and, at times, the groovy 90's poppier rock of No Doubt. Diverse, entertaining, Never In Agreement has a little something to offer at every turn.
For a band that is almost half girls to have more stones to them ...I'm not sure what it says about the current state of rock on the radio.
Never In Agreement is a fantastic album from a group who has made a gigantic leap.
The band is unique and distinguishes themselves with "attitude-infused vocals and groove-oriented songwriting".
The melding of intense guitars and drums with Tovmasyan's striking vocals creates powerful anthems that resonate deep and are suprisingly danceable.
From the far corners of the former USSR the band crafts their music, fusing the past with new music sounds, concepts and trends to further their own unique sound.
What makes the project stand out is the quality of the songwriting and the utter conviction provided Tovmasyan. The songs straddle a line between guitar-driven hard rock and pure, classic pop, and the result is a disc that has nearly as many memorable hooks as it does in-your-face guitar riffs.
The guitar tone retains a more organic sound until the bouncy chorus, which is as close as they come to touching on ska elements.
Either way you try and spin it, Attik Door’s “Never in Agreement” is the type of album you can leave on repeat for hours at a time. Thanks to an accessible assortment of tunes and a wonderful vocalist with plenty of talent behind her, “Never in Agreement” is one of the best indie rock albums of 2015.
Hard hitting and packed with 10 awesome tracks, Attik Door’s new album Never in Agreement prepares the band to launch to a wider audience.
Let’s say two girls — two best friends no less — come into the shop for a post-workout treat, regardless of the unmasked DO NOT ENTER look in your eyes, and KEEP AWAY attitude with your crossed arms and zipped-up-to-the-neck oversized black hoodie. Are you even going to be able to hear their order with Attik Door’s two guitarists blaring from the speakers?
Definitely a great album that shows the depth of their abilities and really gets the feet moving, and makes you wonder how they would sound in a live setting. This is the kind of band that I crave to find in my neck of the woods playing, but I never seem to get that lucky.
Attik Door conveys a sharp sound that combines the best of rapidly moving alternative rock, along with some folk sensibilities that one wouldn’t catch initially.
If you enjoy rock music with attitude and are seeking some originality, I recommend you check Attik Door out!
“California” is not typical to Attik Door, and they have said that with this record their aim was to experiment with different formats from the hard rocking ska their fans have come to expect.
The 10 tracks on this album are quite catchy, each in their own way. Each are set within a tight spectrum of melodies and incorporate various doses of hard and alternative rock, as well as metal, with faint flavours of pop rock and rock rap appearing here and there.
Most of their music is sung in English to appeal to as many people as possible, although they retain some aspects of their culture in their music-making to stay true to their Russian roots.
The band's live shows are raucous, frenetic and fun, showcasing the talents of each member as well as the incredible onstage dynamic the whole group shares.
Attik Door is what you get when you take awesome female lead vocals and put them on top of hardcore alternative rock music production.
“Never in Agreement” begs to be played loud. Attik Door comes in swinging with a flailing drums, an endless supply of hooks and vocals that soar above it all. Brash, bold, this is rock to a perfect tee.
“Never In Agreement” is, no doubt, a true rocker’s paradise.
This is a story of rough and bitter times with a few sweet nostalgic episodes of bliss, presented in a form of a genuine, ballsy, hard rock album, the likes of which are very few and far between these days.
Attik Door’s Liana Tovmasyan has that kind of vocal style that makes my knees a bit weak but also ready for a roundhouse if I’m not careful.
So, what’s the punch line to my joke above? Well, there really is none, because Attik Door is the real deal. If you’re looking for music that packs a punch, isn’t afraid to speak its mind, and is picking up the slack for what rock ‘n’ roll has lost over the decades, I suggest you head to the Bay and seek out this quintet. They obviously know what they’re doing.
